# Can roles be exported/imported?

Is there any way to export roles? They don’t seem to be included as part of an app package (which would make sense given they exist independently of an app).

I can export my roles making a direct export my DBMS and exporter df\_sys\_role\_service\_access table and importing normally. Tomare that has helped

Everything in DreamFactory can be exported and can be extremely useful when migrating from one instance to another. You can also do this programmatically via the [system API](https://guide.dreamfactory.com/docs/chapter15/create-a-database-api.html).
