# Failed to launch service

Getting the below error. I am using the Bitnami Vmware Image and have this setup locally on my network.  
I am using MSSQL 2008 Server R2. I can connect to sql server from other computers on network. Also followed [MS SQL Connection String Format](https://community.dreamfactory.com/t/ms-sql-connection-string-format/153/13)

JaY0,

Can you telnet to this sql server instance from your local machine?

Also, what does your connection string look like - I assume that you’re using the dblib driver. Most of these issues are related to cloud security in some fashion. Have a look [here](https://community.dreamfactory.com/t/lessons-learned-with-ms-sql-server/230), though it is with Azure, still provides some useful hints.
