# How to Use DreamFactory REST API Custom Authentication

Hi there,

I am working on a project that utilizes DreamFactory to manage our REST API endpoints & I need some guidance on implementing custom authentication methods; Our use case requires integrating a third party authentication provider with DreamFactory to handle user access & authorization.

I have been able to set up the basic DreamFactory environment & create the necessary end points for rest. I am facing challenges when it comes to customizing the authentication process.  
How can I configure DreamFactory to recognize and validate tokens from this provider?  
Is it possible to customize the authentication flow in DreamFactory?  
How can I map the user roles and permissions from the third party provider?? 🤔

I have reviewed the DreamFactory documentation & explored various configuration options but I am still unclear on the best approach to achieve these customizations.
