How to Set DreamFactory to Use Domain.com

Hi All,

I am brand new here and this is my first post.

I am wondering if there is anyone here that can help guide me to the correct way to edit the .ENV file so that I can use DreamFactory on a live site on a VPS server with root SSH access that uses Apache - cPanel - CentOS 7 - PHP 7.2 at Domain . (com)?

I am not a developer but have been learning to use SSH and have been able to install DreamFactory in the root of my website at Domain.com. If I try to access it using my URL I get the following error below.

Forbidden

You don’t have permission to access / on this server.

Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

However, if I use the following URL domain . (com)/public it forwards me to the following URL

http://domain . (com)/public/dreamfactory/dist/index.html#/login

I have tried to log in using the email address and password I entered when installing Dreamfactory through SSH.

When I enter my username and password the page just reloads when clicking the Login button.

With Login failing I attempted to use the forgot password option, however, that is not working as well and the page just reloads when clicking the Request Password Reset Button.

I did not get any errors during install indicating that anything went wrong with the install, therefore, I am hoping I can find someone here in the community willing to help get me up and running using DreamFactory on Domain . (com).

I would also like to ask if there are any issues foreseen in the future I might run into by installing DreamFactory files in the root directory of my website? I don’t currently run anything else on this domain and plan on using DreamFactory to access 3rd Party API’s so that I can merge the data into a single API call from my own domain.

Thank you in advance to all that can help me make this a reality.

NOTE: I used an example URL as Domain . (com) because I’m unable to post URL’s because I am new.

There is no one here that can provide any help / tips to point me in the right direction? I guess that’s the downfall to using OOS Applications. Guess i will have to attempt to use a different platform which sucks because DreamFactory looks to be pretty awesome.

Hey looks like you should first try the all in packaged Bitnami version and then start with the source code : https://bitnami.com/stack/dreamfactory

Try this and you’ll be up in no time.
